Arrivals and Airshow Day Kecskemét, Hungary. |
Main target of this expedition was the attendance of the Sukhoi 27
from Ukraine. I wanted to catch the Flanker in flight during
Kecskmet Airshow but unfortunately the Flanker didn't fly. I have
decided to get some pictures of the arrivals and I was hoping to get
the israeli's on the same day. After a nightflight to Budapest and a
short stay at a hotel in Budapest, I took the train in the rainy
morning to Kecskemet and walked(35min) to the west side of the
airbase.
Weather was sticky warm, half sunny with greyish overcast, but dry.
I arrived 9.30hrs at the westerly end of the runway and I was not
alone. Sadly, Israeli's already landed on thursday. But the Flanker
had to come in, yet.
There was a lot of activity on the base, lots of arrivals and local
fighters were flying. At 13.00hrs the flanker arrived with an
Antonov. Luckily, they were picked up by the 2 Migs and 3 Gripens. I
knew that at 14.00hrs the rainstorms would begin. So, I went back to
the station for the train to Budapest.
Next morning went back for the airshow, the entrance was very
crowded even in the early morning. After 15.00hrs I went to the
train station to catch the train to the airport and fly back home.
